Childbearing Tendency and Related Factors Among Married Women in Rasht City, north of Iran

Introduction: Reducing childbirth rates is a serious problem in some countries. Iran one of the countries experiencing decrease fertility rate, with more than 50% avery’s child statistics. Objective: This study aimed to determine childbearing desire and its related factors among married women. Materials Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 550 women aged 15 49 referring comprehensive health centers Rasht City were selected by multi-stage random sampling. Information was collected using questionnaire consisting three parts. The audience asked about their willingness have children personal social profile section, information third section that detect degree children. Descriptive statistics chi-square logistic regression used investigate affecting reluctance Results: results research showed mean age women, spouse, at marriage, duration marriage 31.57±6.2, 35.69±6.6, 22.42±4.52, 9.05±6.5 years, respectively 54.9% currently willing relationship between unwillingness significant regarding husband’s (OR=1.112, 95% CI, 1.050%-1.177%, P=0.001). Also, not significant; however, it became length (OR=1.090, 1.019%-1.167%, P=0.013). women’s opinion desired number (OR=8.101, 3.518%-18.654%, current (OR=16.515,95% 8.293%-32.888%, Conclusion: Our analysis inability accept responsibility being parent reasons why people postpone fourth decade life even beyond. Detailed studies are needed correct trend population decline.
